Dr. George Mnisi — Principal of UBI
Dr. George Mnisi came to UBI in 2008 as the sixth principal. His tenure as principal has seen both numerical and spiritual growth within the institution, as well as strengthened ties with our constituent churches and alumni.
Dr. Mnisi is committed to the idea that we must endeavor to give our students the best and the most relevant training that will meet the needs of the communities they are going to serve upon completion of their studies. The challenges that pastors are faced with today are not necessarily the same as those that were faced by yesterday’s pastors.Dr Mnisi graduated from the University of Fort Hare with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and worked as a Laboratory Supervisor and Product Manager in industry for fifteen years.
He went on to study theology and earned the Bachelor of Theology (Arts) degree from the University of Zululand, the Licentiate in Theology (Honours) from Baptist Theological College, and the Masters and Doctorate degrees from the Rand Afrikaans University.
For ten years he pastored two churches in the Pretoria area. During that time he was also a part-time lecturer at Dorothea Bible School.
Dr Mnisi is married to Sylvia Ntombifikile who works as a medical technologist. They have three grown children.
